We’ve been told that the Word of the Lord endures forever. The Word of God is where we understand His heart and see His goodness. However, as sin has come into our lives, there are things we must turn to Scripture to understand God’s stance on morality and truth. Divorce and remarriage is one of these things. Marriage has been under attack since God instituted it at Creation. We see man’s sin distorting it, in order to gain pleasure and escape difficulty, from the time of Cain until this present age, and it has only gotten worse. This we expect of the World, but from within the Church? We need to look at Scripture and base our conclusions from Jesus’ teaching, instead of society’s popular opinion.
